What Are the Most Beautiful Beaches in Port Grimaud?

The most beautiful beaches in Grimaud and Port Grimaud are:

  • Port Grimaud beach,
  • Port Grimaud Sud beach,
  • Cigales beach
  • Guerrevieille beach.

Whether a fine sandy beach or a more secluded cove fringed with pines, their crystal-clear waters delight and offer the most beautiful panoramas of the Gulf. The beaches along the Grande Bleue bring together idleness, sunshine and beautiful scenery.

Port Grimaud Beach, at the Heart of the Lakeside Village

Port Grimaud beach is the resort’s main beach, opening onto a long stretch of sand, lined with the ochre and pink façades of the little Provençal Venice of the lakeside village.  Set at the end of Avenue de la Mer, it is an easy few-minute walk down from the canals.

Restaurants and bars line the shore, and a water sports centre is set up on the beach for sailing, paddleboarding and board sports. You dive in, you paddle, you move from one water sport to the next without noticing the day slip by. At daybreak, before the parasols arrive, the sand is still cool and the bay almost motionless, perfect for a first swim.

Port Grimaud Sud Beach

Port Grimaud Sud beach occupies the southern tip of the lakeside village, on Rue de la Giscle. Very peaceful, a long ribbon of fine sand, backing onto the marina’s houses, is ideal for spreading out your towel away from the crowds. Even at the height of summer, it stays fairly quiet, with an open view over the Gulf.

Here, the sand is cleaned every morning and the water quality is monitored all summer long. Grimaud Beach rolls out its private beach, where you can reserve a sun mattress and lounger for an even more exclusive day.

Cigales Beach

Cigales beach is a small, charming sandy beach, recognisable by its lighthouse linked to the shore by a picturesque bridge. An intimate beach set along the coast road, it is the closest to Sainte-Maxime. The number of parasols is limited, which preserves the tranquillity of the spot.

The water is clear and transparent, perfect for a day of idleness and relaxation in this dreamlike setting. Its small private harbour, adjoining a neighbouring villa, reinforces the picturesque, unspoilt atmosphere of the place

The Other Beaches of Grimaud

Beyond the flagship beaches, the Grimaud coastline has several secluded coves, all sandy and with an open view over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez:

  • Gros Pin beach: surrounded by breakwaters, it charms with its unspoilt natural setting; in the shade of the pines, the air smells of warm resin, and in the distance Saint-Tropez and its citadel come into view. Supervised in season, it becomes a favourite surfing spot when the east wind blows. The pines cast their shade over the sand,
  • Anse du Vieux Moulin beach: nestled in the hollow of a cove, it opens onto turquoise waters, in a wilder setting where sand mingles with pebbles.
  • Beauvallon beach: it unrolls its sand towards Sainte-Maxime, at the foot of the Beauvallon golf course. Its beach shacks serve waterfront cuisine and hire out sun mattresses and loungers.

FAQ

Is Swimming Safe on the Beaches of Grimaud?

Swimming takes place mainly on Port Grimaud beach, in the centre of the resort, and on the quieter Port Grimaud Sud beach. Guerrevieille beach, 4 kilometres towards Sainte-Maxime, rounds out the choice. All are sandy beaches facing Saint-Tropez and supervised during the summer.

Do You Have to Pay for Port Grimaud Beaches?

No, Port Grimaud beaches are public and access to the sand is free. Only the private beaches charge a fee, for a single day. There you pay for the hire of a sun mattress, a lounger and a parasol, often combined with lunch at the beach restaurant.

Do You Need to Book a Sun Lounger in Advance at Grimaud’s Private Beaches?

Yes, booking is strongly recommended in high season, from June to September. Grimaud’s private beaches have a limited number of loungers, and the best spots, in the front row facing the sea, go first. Booking guarantees your place and, most often, your table for lunch.

What Water Sports Can You Enjoy on Port Grimaud Beaches?

Port Grimaud beaches let you enjoy sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and jet-skiing. The central beach has a water sports centre, and the Nautigolfe II base to the east hires out jet-skis, paddleboards and boats with or without a licence. It is the perfect chance to discover the Gulf of Saint-Tropez from the water, for the length of an outing.

Are Dogs Allowed on Port Grimaud Beach?

Yes, but access is regulated during the summer season. From 1 June to 15 September, dogs are allowed on the beaches of Grimaud only from 9pm to 6am, that is in the evening and at night. The rest of the year, from mid-September to late May, they can enjoy all the beaches, freely and all day long.
