Les Grimaldines 2026: Grimaud’s Festival of World Music and Street Arts

Les Grimaldines is Grimaud’s summer festival, filling the streets of the medieval village with world music and street arts on four Tuesday evenings in summer: 21 and 28 July, then 4 and 11 August 2026.

Since 2003, this event has transformed the hilltop village into an open-air stage, overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Each evening, the street companies bring the cobbled lanes to life from 7pm, and a concert then takes place in the castle theatre at 10pm. Singers, musicians, acrobats and street companies put on wonderfully colourful shows. Each year, the line-up is refreshed and invites you to travel the world.

Le Suffren, the only hotel in Port Grimaud, tells you everything you need to know about Les Grimaldines: dates, line-up, ticketing and practical tips, so you can make the most of the 2026 edition.

Les Grimaldines at a Glance

Les Grimaldines 2026 will take place on Tuesday 21 and 28 July, then 4 and 11 August, in the medieval village of Grimaud. The festival combines street arts, which liven up the lanes free of charge in the early evening, with the concert that follows in the theatre of Grimaud castle, for which booking is required.

The artists come from the four corners of the globe. In a single evening, you travel from the African coast to the heart of Manhattan, from the landscapes of South Africa to the vibrant quarters of Havana and Buenos Aires. The rhythms blend, the audience travels, and one dance leads to another

The History of Les Grimaldines

Les Grimaldines has existed since 2003, born of the desire to bring Grimaud’s heritage to life through music. Each summer, the festival opens the lanes and the castle to artists from all over the world. Artistic director Yann Causse shapes its identity, imagining the street troupes in the lanes and the concerts at the castle. The Grimaud tourist office took over its organisation from 2015.

Over more than twenty years, the line-up has brought together great voices such as Ayo, Youssou N’Dour, Gregory Porter, Imany, Yuri Buenaventura and Eliades Ochoa, with more than 45,000 spectators having attended these concerts. This artistic ambition has established Les Grimaldines among the major cultural events of summer in the Var.

The principle has never changed: every summer Tuesday, the hilltop village is transformed into an open-air theatre. Tuesday evening was chosen so as not to compete with the region’s other events. Ever since, every summer Tuesday, locals and visitors cross paths in the lanes, sharing, laughing and dancing together, carried along by world music and street arts.

An Evening at Les Grimaldines, from the Lanes to the Castle

An evening at Les Grimaldines begins in the lanes, with the various street performances, then moves up to the castle for the Tuesday-night concert. This progression is the whole charm of the festival, as the audience passes from enchanting strolling performances to a unique concert within a historic monument.

Street Arts in the Village

From 7pm, the companies take over Grimaud’s cobbled lanes. Brass bands, circus acts, commedia dell’arte and street theatre follow one another from square to square. The audience wanders freely from one show to the next. This first part of the evening is free and open to all.

The old façades serve as a backdrop and the atmosphere is warm and convivial, the perfect moment to discover the village in a different light.

The Concert at the Castle

At 10pm, a concert takes place in the castle theatre every Tuesday. The medieval ruins overlook the village and the bay, and the intimate stage brings the artists close to the audience. This setting offers one of the finest panoramas over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at which to enjoy a summer concert.

The 2026 Les Grimaldines Line-Up

The 2026 Les Grimaldines line-up brings together four concerts, one each Tuesday, spanning world music, chanson and pop soul, in the castle theatre:

  • Tuesday 21 July: Selah Sue and The Gallands.
  • Tuesday 28 July: Cœur de pirate.
  • Tuesday 4 August: Kareen Guiock Thuram.
  • Tuesday 11 August: AYOM.

Each concert begins at 10pm. Ticketing opens in advance, online and at the Grimaud tourist office. The most sought-after evenings often sell out. It is best to book early to be sure of attending the concert of your choice.

How to Make the Most of Your Evening at Les Grimaldines

To make the most of Les Grimaldines, book your concert in advance, arrive early and opt for the shuttles.

Book Your Concert Ticket

The castle concert is ticketed and places are limited. Ticketing is open online, at the Grimaud tourist office and on site on concert evenings, subject to availability. Tickets can be neither exchanged nor refunded. Check the official ticketing service for the exact price of each evening.

Plan Your Journey and Parking

The hilltop village can be reached in a few minutes from the coast, but parking remains limited in summer. Free shuttles run from 6pm to 1am, every fifteen to twenty minutes. They spare you the search for a parking space and drop you as close as possible to the festivities.

Dine Before the Concert

The street arts begin at 7pm, the perfect moment to dine in the village or by the water. The restaurants of Port Grimaud serve Mediterranean cuisine, just steps from the marina. You then head up to the castle for the 10pm concert.

Extend Your Stay in Grimaud

Les Grimaldines lends itself to a stay of several days. During the day, enjoy the beaches of Port Grimaud and set off to discover the most beautiful villages around Saint-Tropez. When evening comes, you return to the festival for an atmosphere like no other.

Where to Stay for Les Grimaldines: Le Suffren in Port Grimaud

Le Suffren is the only hotel in Port Grimaud, about six kilometres from Grimaud, where the festival takes place. After the performances and the concert, you can easily return to the calm of the lakeside town and its canals.

Staying here also means taking the time to discover Port Grimaud, the little Provençal Venice, which you can explore by boat, on foot along the canals, or at the market held twice a week on the square next to the hotel. It is also a chance to discover the beach of Port Grimaud, just two hundred metres away.

For the evening, our teams help you organise everything: your dinner table, ticketing information, the free shuttles and the best route to the village. The rooms and suites open onto the harbour, the canal or the market square. For a weekend on the French Riviera with a group, five apartments offer more space and independence.
